I was there right at the front table. I was also there in the men's room to overhear you and Pete rehearse the lyrics to Turn in one of the stalls an hour before the start of the show. A moment in time I will never forget! Thanks Spook!
Spook, this is perhaps the best of all your posts so far. Or perhaps a very close second to the story of how you met Jennifer. We all hope you keep writing!
I'm not entirely certain Spook, to be honest. It seems like I can hear you two talking in this dialogue, where in other writings, it seemed more like I was reading the dialogue. (Which of course, I was in both cases). That is not very helpful, I know.
I was so fortunate to hear Pete live twice, once playing with Arlo Guthrie at Music Fest in Milwaukee and again playing with members of his family and other friends at the Masonic Temple in Madison WI. 2 carloads of Blackhawk folks drove down. I had advance tickets but when an elderly gentleman came in with his grandson, he was told there were no seats left. He offered to just sit on some steps, but they said that was over the building capacity limit. He was almost crying when he told the child "I'm sorry, bit I guess you will die, never hearing Pete Seger. This was Pete's last big tour.
And he loved your Parrots for Peace. We sure had some good times. Have you been to any events in NYC? I haven't since the Pandemic, but I always loved them.

Yes. That's where it happened. Thanks for sharing.

I’m curious. What do you like about this post?

Thank you Sherri. A lot happens Looking for America. Little discoveries are waiting around every corner.

Pete loved your music, especially, VOTE.

Spook, You were very fortunate to have that time with Pete!
I was. I seem to recall that you played with Pete once or twice. Is there any accuracy to that?
